What's your favorite video game genre?

Over the years, you've probably played video games of many different genres. I'm sure you have a favorite one, and that's what I want to know in this topic. Personally, I've always been a fan of action-adventure games. Especially the Zelda games, which is one of my favorite Nintendo series, and a series I've always enjoyed.

Ma favourites are RPG and action-adventure

Action-Adventure and Platformers. Pretty basic stuff.

RPGs, Platformers, and the occasional FPS.

Anything that challenges my skill, particularly fighting games. I enjoy seeing myself improve and the feel of accomplishment, especially on games that require practice and effort. I don't mind difficult games, so long as they don't border on the insane.

I also love me an RPG with a good story.

I like Platofrmers, Action-Adventure, RPG, Action, RTS [Pikmin], Party and sports [only when they are mario]

I don't really mind, but I'll let ya know my favourite games:
- Super Smash Bros.
- Super Mario series (2D and 3D)
- Minecraft
- Pokémon
- Mario Kart and GTA

So I guess I like platformers, FPSs and fighting games. I don't really prefer anything, it's all up to the game whether or not I like it.

Pokemon and racing games. Because I'm good at them. XD

Puzzles, adventures, action, racing, and platformers. I don't normally enjoy fighting games, but Smash has a special quality that makes it great fun.

I find it funny that we're revisiting all of these older topics simply because Flurry is commenting on them all.

Yeah. What's also interesting is that more people have posted in this topic today than the number who posted when the thread was started nearly 7 months ago (note how long ago it was posted - it's quite something to see a thread where the last post before Flurry's post was nearly 7 months ago suddenly become active again).

I'm just catching up on some old posts, putting in my own thoughts and such. I didn't expect to reawaken ancient posts.

I like classic hack n slash games like devil may cry and ninja gaiden. RPG's are definitely one of my favorite genres. Lots of fast pace fighters like marvel vs capcom and smash bros, sometimes puzzle games, love a good platformer. I like a lot of different games but my least favorite it probably FPS's they feel too similar but I do enjoy halo. I also prefer made up tooney characters or just more on the fantasy side opposed to realistic characters and games... I got enough realism in the real world!

Oooh, lucky! I actually bought awakening and I don't even have a 3ds. The reason is, I heard there could be a shortage on physical copies and I didn't want to risk not being able to get a copy... also I haven't bought a brand new game in a long time and I'm obessed with fire emblem, what can I say ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. If i'm honest I probably put 300 hours or so into the fire emblem series... they're just perfect. I own them all besides path of radiance which I plan to pick up soon. I'm even able to play 6 regularly on my modded wii.

Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are my favorites. There's just something different about Ike when compared to sissy royalty who whine when they have to take back their kingdom.

Yeah. When it came out, I was actually the only one in the city, according to a GameStop associate, who got a physical copy of the game. I was so glad I per-ordered it

Yeah when I talked to the guy at gamestop apparently only 2 people put in preorders and I just thought to myself how pathetic that is lol. Anyway I'm just glad I have a copy, since some people still can't find any. Hope I'm not missing out too much on that art book.

The only thing that sucks about those two games are their price tag... It's pretty much impossible for me to have a favorite fire emblem game since they are all equally amazing. I never even played a game with marth in it But I will say it's probably my favorite series since they are so consistent.
