Rumor: Nintendo bringing smartphone applications to the Wii U?

If this rumor is true, Nintendo may be bringing smartphone applications to the Wii U. According to the rumor, Nintendo may be making smartphone-to-Wii U conversion software to bring apps to the Wii U. The goal would be to bring popular smartphone games to the Wii U to increase the sales of the system. The rumor also says that Nintendo is developing new games and software for the Wii U, and making that their focus.
