Nintendo Power ceasing publication Empty Nintendo Power ceasing publication

If you were a Nintendo gamer in the 80s and 90s, your source of information most likely came from the Nintendo Power magazine. Well, that's all about to come to an end, as Nintendo Power will be ceasing publication. Having started publication in 1988, Nintendo Power is one of the longest-running gaming magazines in the U.S. There's multiple reasons that the magazine is ending its publication; among them is that Future Publishing (the publisher of the magazine since 2007) says that Nintendo is "difficult to work with," Nintendo was uninterested in renewing the contract they had with them, Nintendo doesn't want to take control of publishing the magazine again, and Nintendo didn't want to take part in digital initiatives that Future saw as necessary. Editors and staffers were told of this last week, and they will be transitioned to work at other Future properties. As of now, Nintendo Power has a monthly readership of 475,000, although it hasn't been made clear yet how their subscribers will be compensated for the closing of Nintendo Power, if they will be at all.

E: This hasn't actually been finalized yet. According to ComputerAndVideoGames.com, if Nintendo Power does close, it may be taken in a digital direction.
