Miyamoto talks about why Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is on the 3DS rather than the Wii U

There's a good reason why Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon is on the 3DS rather than the Wii U. According to him, Nintendo had wanted to see how Luigi's Mansion looked in 3D, so it ties into why its sequel is being released on the 3DS.

“Actually, when we first developed the GameCube game one of the things that we really wanted to do in developing that game was to see the visuals on a 3D screen,”

“At the time we experimented with a 3D monitor and looking at the game in 3D, and that actually ties to how we actually got to release the Nintendo 3DS.

“So we thought the connection between the two was really important and we wanted to bring Luigi’s Mansion, in a new version, to Nintendo 3DS where those 3D visuals could really come to life.”

Oh I remember reading this. Yeah it's a nice thing to consider but overall, I don't like it when a console game then has sequels on handheld as most of the time it's simplified. I hope they prove me wrong.

While the 3D was a nice touch, I believe that HD graphics would be an overall better way to continue the creepy vibes of the first. the ghosts in Dark Moon look too silly. I would have liked to see how the GamePad could be utilized with Luigi's Mansion.
