Miyamoto: Don't expect a new F-Zero game any time soon
Don't expect to see a new F-Zero game any time soon. According to Miyamoto, while he is aware that fans want to see a new game in the series, the team is struggling with ideas that could turn a potential new game in the series into an exceptional game. He doesn't know what direction Nintendo would go for a new game.
“I certainly understand that people want a new F-Zero game. I think where I struggle is that I don’t really have a good idea for what’s new that we could bring to F-Zero that would really turn it into a great game again. Certainly I can see how people looking at Mario Kart 8 could see, through the anti-gravity, a connection to F-Zero. But I don’t know, at this point, what direction we could go in with a new F-Zero.”

Bring back Sega! Nintendo has good relations with them, and F-Zero GX turned out wonderfully last time they did it. Just make it 30 player online multiplayer, and have a track editor with the ability to share created tracks online, like in the F-Zero X Expansion Kit. That would make the game pratically perfect in my eyes, as long as the gameplay is as fine tuned as it has been in previous installments.

They shouldn't let this franchise die. Like Zef said, have Sega take a crack at it.
