Wii Mini Confirmed

Selling 300,000 units, there is no doubt that the current generation Wii console is still a hot product. But what would you say about a smaller variant? Nintendo has recently confirmed the rumors about the existence of a Wii Mini console, which was originally leaked by Best Buy. Starting a the price of $99, the Wii Mini is targeted towards casual gamers and those new to the platform.

The console however, is lacking some features present in the original Wii console. For starters, it does not have wireless capabilities. Secondly, it can not play Game Cube games.

The Wii mini is currently only expected to release in Canada, where it will reach store shelves at December 7th.

Well guys, it's official: the Wii Mini is coming out for the holidays! In Canada at least...



Weird little thing, isn't it? It works the same as the current Wii; no Gamecube backward compatibility. However, this Wii doesn't have Internet support, which really sucks in my book. It's also a top loader now, instead of a front loader like the original Wii and the Wii U. Read the full article here:

Also, here's the official page on Nintendo's website. It says that they currently have no plans to release it elsewhere, but that could change.

I find it useless. I mean what's the point of it? The design is nice and all but I think that would have been better as a GameCube Mini.
