Wii U first week sales Empty Wii U first week sales

First week sales for the Wii U are here, and overall, the Wii U sold 400,000 units during its launch week. A great start for the Wii U; sales like this in the first week are pretty encouraging. During this same period, Nintendo also sold 300,000 Wii consoles, 250,000 3DS consoles, and 275,000 DS consoles. Overall, it was a good week for Nintendo sales-wise.

“Wii U is essentially sold out of retail and we are doing our best to continually replenish stock. Retailers are also doing their best to get the product to store shelves. But as soon as product hits retail, they’re selling out immediately.”

Amazing that the original Wii is still selling so well. I thought that it would be doing terrible, what with the advent of a new console and all, but 300,000 units is quite an impresive number.
