New CoroCoro, new Pokémon, new Mega-Evolutions
A new issue of the Japanese magazine CoroCoro has arrived, with very interesting news on the new Pokémon games X and Y.
The main focus is about a new feature called "Mega-Evolutions". There are currently 6 Pokémon shown to be able to mega-evolve: Blaziken, Ampharos, Mawile, Absol, Lucario and Mewtwo. Mewtwo's mega-evolved form turned out to be his formerly revealed form.
Some Mega-Evolutions get new abilities (Mawile gets Huge Power, Ampharos gets Mold Breaker, Lucario gets Adaptability), some others get a new typing (Mawile becomes part Fairy, Ampharos becomes part Dragon).
It's not yet clear if this "evolution" is an actual evolution or a transformation.
Furthermore there are three new Pokémon shown: Dedenne, the new electric mouse, Horubi, a rabbit, and Me'ekuru, the pre-evolution of Gogoat.

Well....that is odd. Has it been revealed how they will go about transforming into these mega-evolutions?

They're going to evolve through items called Mega Stones. The Pokemon who have Mega Evolutions can evolve only in a battle. A video of this has been released, which I'm going to embed below. If you want to learn more about this, you'll want to click this link.

Cool, thanks.
It's definitely an interesting twist, and one I am curious to see in action.

We've also heard about Mega Kangaskhan as well, which has a nifty new ability where its joey can attack also. I am very much excited for X&Y; it seems to be shaking up the gameplay of the franchise in a really positive way.
