How has the Hurricane affected you?

Hopefully we are all aware of Hurricane Sandy. The tropical cyclone that is terrorizing much of East Coast. On this thread, I want to ask how you are affected by the hurricane. You can share what the condition is in your area (do try to keep your actual location anonymous for safety reasons), did it miss you, or any general thoughts you may have.

Well, at first it looked like it would hit my area. But luckily, the worst weather we got was strong winds and a bit of rain. However, homes and other buildings near the beach got destroyed unfortunately. My heart's out to those affect and those we were not as fortunate as I was.

I got hit pretty hard. The winds were either strong tropical storm or hurricane force, there was heavy rain, and I lost power a bit after 4:00 PM. It came back on around 4 and a half hours ago.

I've been on the other side of the U.S., watching that hurricane devastate many other people's lives. My heart goes out to them as well.

I'm just far enough inland to get a fair drizzle out of it. Even the power hasn't failed me yet. Seems it's wreaking havoc just east of here, though, so best of luck to those people.
