A new Eevee evolution will be in Pokemon X and Y

After not getting one in Generation V, we're getting a new Eevee evolution in the upcoming Generation VI. It'll be called Sylveon, and although there's no information on its type or how it'll evolve from Eevee yet, we should find out more information in the coming months. It will likely be Flying now due to the name being based on Sylph like Ninfia is to Nymph.

Well Eevee is the Evolution Pokémon, so it's logical it will get more evolutions in the future.

Some of my friends suspect this evolution may actually be Normal type, which is about the only type I might find interesting for it. Anything else would just be too expected.

Yeah, well Eevee starts out as a normal type, so what would be the point of that? It would make it too similar to other Pokemon.

That's exactly why the last thing you'd expect it to evolve into would be a Normal type. One could argue that there's no point in making Eevee evolve into anything else because it already has too much variety.

Sylveon - Sylph : "Sylph (also called sylphid) is a mythological creature in the Western tradition. The term originates in Paracelsus, who describes sylphs as invisible beings of the air, his elementals of air"

Ninfia - Nymph : "A nymph (Greek: νύμφη, nymphē) in Greek mythology is a minor female nature deity typically associated with a particular location or landform. There are 5 different types of nymphs, Celestial Nymphs, Water Nymphs, Land Nymphs, Plant Nymphs and Underworld Nymphs."

I'm with Taidow on this one. I'm also thinking that a Ground-type one may accompany it, which would be a nice contrast.

If anything accompanies it I'm actually expecting Rock.

In every duo the second eeveelution is the one that has the advantage over the other.

Espeon < Umbreon
Leafeon < Glaceon
Sylveon < Rock
