Famitsu recently interviewed some video game directors to see what their New Year resolutions are, and what is Sakurai's one? To complete and release the next Super Smash Bros. games in 2014. That's good to hear, because he has said on a number of occasions that the next games will be released by then.

Resolution: “I resolve to complete development on Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U and release it in 2014.”
