At today's Nintendo Direct conference, Nintendo showed new footage of Mario Kart 8. It shows new tracks, including airport, desert, and cloud tracks. It also shows characters that will be in the game, including the baby characters. In addition, there are new vehicles - UFOs and buggies.

I concur. I was so underwhelmed by that reveal. I was hoping for a new gameplay mechanic or mode or something. Good thing Mario Kart has such solid foundations, gameplay-wise.
