Hackers claim to have Jailbroken Wii U

Infamous hackers WiiKey has recently announced that they have managed to fully hack the Wii U system, including the file system ("/" for those familiar with UNIX), drive authentication, and disk encryption. While this hack will not enable Homebrew Channel installment or region unlocking, it will allow for the use of pirated game copies, obtained from unauthorized sources. Additionally, this may also discourage third party developers, something desperately needed to allow for growth in the Wii U's game library.

Well, this isn't a surprise at all. It was only a matter of time before it happened. Even though the Homebrew Channel and region unlocking aren't available right now, I can see them becoming available in the near future.

No surprise there. Although I did participate in the homebrew thing for the wii after the games kinda stopped, I wouldn't go back to it again. I think Nintendo has gotten a bit smarter and may release more frequent updates to counter that.
