Do you EV train your Pokemon?
EV Training (4/5-4/12)
This week's new poll is here, and this time around, I'm asking you if you EV train your Pokemon. I've done it before, so yes, I do EV train. What about you?

Yes. Of course only post-game. I play standard for the story stuff in games.

I EV-trained one Pokémon once, but that was before I found out about Pokémon Online. Normally I don't do it in normal "story mode" game, but in fact I have done it once as I said before.

I never really understood how EV training worked. So, no. I do not. I do, however, hack to get "legitimate" EV trained Pokemon.
Re: EV Training (4/5-4/12)
Quick EV guide: Every Pokémon has hidden "stats", that, if you defeat it, you'll gain a few EV points. For example, killing a Magikarp awards you with 3 Speed EVs, if I'm correct. For every 4 EV points you get in certain stat, said stat will gain 1 point. So killing 3 Magikarps gives you a total of 9 Speed EVS and thus 2 extra points in Speed.
Each stat can have a maximum of 255 stats, but as you can see, only 252 is enough to get maximum boost (the last three don't give you benefit since it's not four). Also, a total of 510 is the maximum. So the best thing you can do is EV max two stats (HP and Defense, or Speed and Attack, any combination is possible), and one stat with just four EV points.
Also IVs and Nature determine your stats. IVs are determined at birth and can range between 0 and 31 for every stat (having 31 in Attack gives you 31 more points in Attack than a Pokémon with 0 IVs in Attack). Nature lowers one stat by 10% and increases one other by 10%. If the lowered and increased stat are the same stat, you don't lose anything.

I don't EV train. I find no point in it besides online.

I've done it before, but my life has been too busy as of late to really have time for it. Someday, I'd like to EV train and have some fun online, but for now it's not really an option. And yeah, post-game is the best time for it so you have all your training spots open.

Nope. It's a little too excessive to figure all that stuff out and train accordingly. I just level them up.
